Dear friends and colleagues!
The 2045 Initiative is pleased to announce the online broadcast on April 10, 2014 of a lecture by Dr. Alexander Kaplan, Doctor of Biological Sciences, head of the Laboratory of Neurophysiology and Neurocomputing Interfaces at the Faculty of Biology of the Moscow State University.
The subject of the lecture is "Neurointerfaces: towards prosthetic brain functions."
The live webcast with simultaneous translation into English will be held on April 10th at 19:00pm Moscow time or 11:00am EST on the website of the 2045 Initiative at http://www.2045.com
In this lecture, Professor Kaplan will explain:
- How scientists in neurophysiological laboratories can decipher the electrical signals of the brain so that the person is able to type text on a computer screen by means of thinking and without touching the keyboard; as well as to control a robot at a distance, etc.;
- How it may be possible to extend the life of a person's identity based on a complete prosthesis of his body and creation of an artificial channel to control prostheses for the human body using his brain;
- The prospects of neurointerfaces in the context of a new industry known as 'cybernetic medicine', which has a high investment potential.
